American Indian Music Fest: Evoking Prehistory through Music
Casa Grande Ruins National Monument
January 30 & 31, 2010
Come join this festive event celebrating the connection and continuity of prehistoric and current American Indian cultures through concert and demonstration. Experience a blend of prehistoric and modern Native American instrumentation, music and dance. Observe American Indian crafters and artisans engaged in authentic production of traditional and contemporary cultural items (available for purchase). Taste authentic American Indian foods, and dance to the rhythms of the past and the present.
Location:
Casa Grande Ruins National Monument, 1100 West Ruins Drive, Coolidge, Arizona.
56 miles south of Phoenix. Off of Interstate 10, take exit 185 and follow signs to Casa Grande Ruins in Coolidge.
68 miles north of Tucson. Off of Interstate 10, take exit 211 and stay on Hwy. 87 to the north end of Coolidge.
Parking & Shuttle Service:
Visitor parking will be available at the Coolidge Safeway, Wal-Mart, and Walgreens parking lot, with overflow parking at Shope’s IGA. Free shuttle service provided by the City of Coolidge during the event.
Schedule:
January 30 and 31 -- Saturday through Sunday – Noon to 5:00 – Performances and concerts
January 30 – Saturday – 5:30 to 8:30 – Illuminated Casa Grande and evening concert
January 30 and 31 – Daily – 9:00 to 5:00 – Demonstrations, arts and crafts booths, and traditional food sales
Admission:
The regular admission fee of $5.00 per person (16-years-old and over) applies. Children 15 and under are free. All Federal Interagency passes are accepted, including Senior Passes, Access Passes, and Annual Passes.
Featured Performers will be announced by January 1.

Public Parking Information American Indian Music Fest, 2010 Casa Grande Ruins National Monument
No public parking will be available at the Monument during this event.
Public parking will be available across the highway (87/287) from the Monument at either the Walmart or Safeway parking lots.
Free shuttle service will be provided between the Walmart and Safeway parking lots and the Monument.
Persons with large, cumbersome medical equipment will be allowed vehicle access to the Monument for loading and unloading only.
