Southwest Corps Connection Performance

The 2010 Drum Corps International Southwest Corps Connection will hold two shows in Arizona this year in the East Valley on Wednesday June 23rd, 2010, at Red Mountain High School, and July 18th, 2010, at Dobson High School.  Each show will begin at 7:30 p.m. 
 
The Southwest Corps Connection is the local edition of the Drum Corps International Summer Tour Event, featuring some the world’s best drum and bugle corps.  This year’s show will attract thousands of enthusiastic marching music fans from across the country and will feature many of the world’s elite drum corps from across North America, including Arizona’s own championship corps- The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps from Tempe. 
 
The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps is one of the programs of The Arizona Academy of the Performing Arts (AAPA).  AAPA is a nonprofit youth arts organization founded in 2000, with the mission of “Building Great People through Great Performances.” Proceeds from the Southwest Corps Connection will support The Academy’s 2010 summer tour.  This year the corps will tour for 47 days, competing in 22 competitions and travel 12,000 miles across the United States.
