FIRST ANNUAL “WINE IN THE WOODS” WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL
THE ARBORETUM AT FLAGSTAFF

SEDI (the Sustainable Economic Development Initiative) and The Arboretum at Flagstaff present Wine in the Woods: AZ Style on Sunday, September 15 from 1:00-5:00pm. The event showcases AZ wineries and local eateries among the glorious gardens at The Arboretum, and also features Arizona favorite, Pick & Holler string band.
Featured wineries are Burning Tree Cellars, Pillsbury Wine Company, Javelina Leap Winery, Oak Creek Winery, Su Vino Winery, Caduceus Cellars, Arizona Stronghold Wines, and Cellar 433 AZ Wine. Participating food vendors include Cyrano’s Seafood & Chophouse, Black Bart’s Steakhouse, 1899 Bar and Grill, Little America Hotel, Cabot Cheese, and others. The event also showcases experts on wine and viticulture; speakers include Casey Rooney, Economic Development Director for the City of Cottonwood, Nikki Check, Director of Viticulture and Enology at Yavapai Community College, and winemaker John McLoughlin, of Cellar 433 AZ Wine.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 day of and include admission to The Arboretum, souvenir wine glass and 10 tasting tickets. Shuttle service will be provided from the Woody Springs W.L. Gore parking lot on Kiltie Lane.
The Arboretum at Flagstaff, located 4 miles south of Rte. 66 on Woody Mountain Road, is home to 750 species of plants in greenhouses, gardens, and natural habitats, and offers numerous public programs, including a concert series, summer camps, and school programs. The Sustainable Economic Development Initiative (SEDI) works with businesses and government to develop sustainable growth policies, fosters and supports entrepreneurship and small and home-based businesses, and partners with NAU, FUSD, and other educational and non-profit organizations in the community to offer internship and enrichment programs.
