I have been interested in photography since about 2000, right after I moved here to Arizona from Virgina; but I just recently started getting serious about it. I guess I could probably say that Arizona inspired me to travel more and therefore shoot more. We have so much to see and do and so many beautiful places!
Landscapes have been my major work, however, I enjoyed shooting spring this year with the cactus flowers and the butterflies from the Desert Botanical Garden. I have gotten involved with a local photography group, AZPhotographersGroup.com and have many activities planned in the near future so we will see what I come up with next.
I love Sedona and go there several times a year. I shoot images every time I'm there, hoping for that amazing photograph. I always stop at the Chapel of the Holy Cross when I am in town, not only is it beautiful, it is a very spiritual place for me. The landmark was designed by Marguerite Brunswig Staude, a pupil of Frank Lloyd Wright, and the Chapel is unique as it appears to rise out of the surrounding red rocks. This particular day the clouds were great, and I was looking for that perfect angle and I found it!
