Muleshoe Ranch Preserve
On 49,120 acres of rugged semi-desert grasslands, the Muleshoe Ranch Preserve straddles the Sonoran and Chihuahuan Deserts. The Plant diversity ranges from giant Saguaro cactus to Ponderosa pine forest and contains some of Arizona's best remaining native fish and riparian habitats. More than 180 bird species have been recorded at Muleshoe. The ranch headquarters date from the late 1800's and are built around several hot springs bubbling from a hill. Muleshoe Ranch's history reads like a novel with cowboys, Indians, prospectors and eastern dudes all playing roles. The Muleshoe Ranch has natural hot springs that have rejuvenated visitors since 1862, with area Indian ruins dating back over 1000 years.
