Tsaile Lake Navajo Nation Department of Fish and Wildlife
Behind Diné College, at the intersection of Navajo Route Seven and the Lukachukai-Window Rock road, Tsaile Lake in Chinle was constructed as a flood control dam at the head of Canyon Del Muerto.
Camping is allowed by permit along the shore of this 270-acre lake. No facilities or improved campsites are available. Remember to bring your own firewood.
The quality of fishing varies from fair to outstanding. Fishing from shore is impeded by heavy weeds, while fly fishing is more feasible. You will find cut-throat, rainbow and brook trout, along with a few catfish throughout the lake.
