Ak-Chin Indian Community
With a name meaning "place where the wash loses itself in the ground," Ak-Chin is an agricultural community in Central Arizona through which the Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz, Smith and Vekol washes flow.
As the landscape and terrain are ideal for growing crops, most of the land is primaily used for agriculture.
The Ak-Chin community is comprised of both Tohono O'odham and Pima people.
