Indian Gardens Three-Day Adventure

This trip is ideal for families or recreational hikers wanting to camp below the rim and visit the Colorado River without carrying a heavy backpack the entire trip. It is also a great way to see the Canyon in the hotter summer months! We leave early on the first day and head directly down the trail to the famous Indian Gardens campsite where a large artesian spring gushes directly from the canyon wall. This will be our home 3,000 feet below the rim for two nights. We will explore the area and enjoy the natural beauty during our stay. On the second day, we will day hike down to the bottom of the Canyon with an approximate 10 lb. day pack and visit the Colorado River enjoying the creek along the trail as we go before returning to our campsite for the night. As we prepare to ascend on the third day when standing on the top and gazing back down into canyon below, you can already feel exhilaration of knowing you were all the way down there, a wonderful accomplishment.
